I have been working with small gauge film, photographs, slides, as well as video and audio recordings in various formats for over 8 years. I am a trained archivist with a Masters degree from the University of Amsterdam in the Preservation and Presentation of the Moving Image. I am a technician as well, intrigued by the apparatus and the way in which machines work. I have been involved with both television and film production. I also own and operate a small darkroom for medium format film and small gauge moving image film as the photographic process is also important to me.
I am incredibly passionate about home media and find myself creating, presenting, projecting, and preserving it. This is results in carefully catalogued, organized, and digitized collections. My personal interest into home media has grown into a passion for furthering its cultural impact through is preservation, documentation, and presentation.
My previous positions and personal archival projects have allowed me to experience working on diverse collections of media with various scopes, budgets, and content. See more information on the Peter Rubin Collection at the Eye Filmmuseum and my own work with the Kluber Family slides for examples in upcoming blog posts.
"Super8 Films by Peter Rubin" details my work with the small gauge film in the Peter Rubin Collection. Click below for a link to read the post!
